woodcut, 1894, on wove paper, signed in blue pencil, numbered '21' (from the edition of approximately 60), with full margins, pale light- and mat staining, a few soft handling creases in the upper margin, hinge remains at the reverse of the upper corners (slightly showing through), otherwise in good condition

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work L'Averse (Vallotton & Goerg 149A) by Félix Vallotton was sold in the Prints And Multiples auction at Christies in New York in April 2008. It achieved a price of USD 6,000.00 (€ 3,854.06), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Félix Vallotton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cinq heures in October this year with an auction result of GBP 3,670,000.00 (€ 4,214,179.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit L'Averse (Vallotton & Goerg 149A) von Félix Vallotton wurde im April 2008 in der Auktion Prints And Multiples bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 3.854,06) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Félix Vallotton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cinq heures im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.670.000,00 (€ 4.214.179,60).
