Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work High School Days, The Critic Smiles, Flag, Light Bulb, and Bread, from Lead Reliefs (G. 129-133; ULAE 72-76) by Jasper Johns was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April this year. It achieved a price of USD 355,600.00 (€ 322,101.45), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 19%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jasper Johns achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Small False Start in November last year with an auction result of USD 55,350,000.00 (€ 53,618,134.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit High School Days, The Critic Smiles, Flag, Light Bulb, and Bread, from Lead Reliefs (G. 129-133; ULAE 72-76) von Jasper Johns kam im April diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 355.600,00 (€ 322.101,45) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 19%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jasper Johns erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Small False Start im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 55.350.000,00 (€ 53.618.134,26).
