In April this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Ligaments of the Elbow, Etc., from Anatomy by Jean-Michel Basquiat. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,970.00 (€ 12,209.40), 75% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Michel Basquiat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 110,487,500.00 (€ 98,333,481.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ligaments of the Elbow, Etc., from Anatomy von Jean-Michel Basquiat zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.970,00 (€ 12.209,40) und damit 75% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Michel Basquiat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.487.500,00 (€ 98.333.481,67).
