Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ten Variants (D. 173) by Josef Albers was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April this year. The price achieved of USD 19,050.00 (€ 17,255.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josef Albers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Homage to the Square in May this year with an auction result of USD 2,954,000.00 (€ 2,772,667.54).
