Signed, titled 'Auferstehung' and dated '(18)' in pencil, from the edition of 40 before steel facing (there was also an edition of 60 printed after steel facing), published by Marées-Gesellschaft, R. Piper & Co., Munich (with their blindstamp), 1919, unframed.

Auction result misses estimated price range
In April this year a collector was able to acquire the work Auferstehung (Resurrection), from Gesichter (Faces) (H. 132) by Max Beckmann for USD 3,556.00 (€ 3,221.01). This price was achieved in the auction Editions & Works on Paper at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Beckmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hölle der Vögel in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 36,005,000.00 (€ 41,002,977.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Auferstehung (Resurrection), from Gesichter (Faces) (H. 132) von Max Beckmann für USD 3.556,00 (€ 3.221,01) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Max Beckmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hölle der Vögel im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.005.000,00 (€ 41.002.977,39).
