Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Coin de rue vue d'en haut (Street Corner Seen from Above), from Quelques aspects de la vie de Paris (Some Scenes of Parisian Life) (B. 70, R.-M. 68) by Pierre Bonnard was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,286.00 (€ 2,070.65). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre Bonnard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Terrasse Ou Une Terrasse À Grasse in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 19,570,000.00 (€ 17,553,143.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Coin de rue vue d'en haut (Street Corner Seen from Above), from Quelques aspects de la vie de Paris (Some Scenes of Parisian Life) (B. 70, R.-M. 68) von Pierre Bonnard im April diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.286,00 (€ 2.070,65) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pierre Bonnard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Terrasse Ou Une Terrasse À Grasse im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 19.570.000,00 (€ 17.553.143,78).
