In May 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Working Drawing For Wall Drawing #1117 by Sol LeWitt. The »bidding war« ended at USD 47,500.00 (€ 38,417.99), 36% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).

Im Mai 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Working Drawing For Wall Drawing #1117 von Sol LeWitt zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 38.417,99) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
