Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Piss Christ by Andres Serrano was sold in the Contemporary Art Day auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2011. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 34,780.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Andres Serrano have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Piss Christ in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 314,500.00 (€ 233,776.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Piss Christ von Andres Serrano wurde im Mai 2011 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 34.780,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andres Serrano auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Piss Christ im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 314.500,00 (€ 233.776,85).
