Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Schwarz, Rot, Gold II (Black, Red, Gold II) (B. 108) by Gerhard Richter was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in April this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 17,780.00 (€ 16,105.07) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerhard Richter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstraktes Bild in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 30,389,000.00 (€ 41,901,917.57).
