Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Figure 1 (ULAE 13, S. 13) by Jasper Johns was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in April this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 9,525.00 (€ 8,627.72). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jasper Johns achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Small False Start in November last year with an auction result of USD 55,350,000.00 (€ 53,618,134.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Figure 1 (ULAE 13, S. 13) von Jasper Johns wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 9.525,00 (€ 8.627,72) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jasper Johns erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Small False Start im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 55.350.000,00 (€ 53.618.134,26).
