This artwork by Jean-Michel Basquiat achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in April this year. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Untitled (Plate 10); and Untitled (Two Portions of Bones), from Untitled: from Leonardo sold for USD 22,860.00 (€ 19,979.02) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Michel Basquiat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 110,487,500.00 (€ 98,333,481.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 91 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean-Michel Basquiat erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Plate 10); and Untitled (Two Portions of Bones), from Untitled: from Leonardo für USD 22.860,00 (€ 19.979,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Michel Basquiat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.487.500,00 (€ 98.333.481,67).
