Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Standing Explosion #3 (Yellow) by Roy Lichtenstein. The price achieved of USD 672,500.00 (€ 598,522.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Standing Explosion #3 (Yellow) von Roy Lichtenstein zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 672.500,00 (€ 598.522,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
