The work Self-Portrait by Andy Warhol was worth USD 122,500.00 (€ 85,211.46) to a buyer in May 2011. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Day at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
