In November this year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Abstract Face (2) by George Condo. The »bidding war« ended at USD 516,600.00 (€ 473,597.36), 48% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Condo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude and Forms in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 6,162,500.00 (€ 5,280,634.10).

Im November diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abstract Face (2) von George Condo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 516.600,00 (€ 473.597,36) und damit 48% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Condo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude and Forms im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.162.500,00 (€ 5.280.634,10).
