Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Erlauf, Blue by Jenny Holzer was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 44,100.00 (€ 40,429.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jenny Holzer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Arno Pair in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,560,000.00 (€ 1,453,732.18).
