Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Icarus by Malcolm Morley was auctioned at Christies in New York in November this year. The price achieved of USD 151,200.00 (€ 138,613.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Malcolm Morley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work SS Amsterdam in Front of Rotterdam in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 1,202,500.00 (€ 1,695,509.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Icarus von Malcolm Morley kam im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 151.200,00 (€ 138.613,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Malcolm Morley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit SS Amsterdam in Front of Rotterdam im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.202.500,00 (€ 1.695.509,91).
