The work Peasant With Violin (M. 551) by Marc Chagall was sold in the Prints auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2014. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,983.24), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Chagall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Amoureux in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 28,453,000.00 (€ 23,914,103.21).

Die Arbeit Peasant With Violin (M. 551) von Marc Chagall wurde im Oktober 2014 in der Auktion Prints bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.983,24) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Chagall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Amoureux im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.453.000,00 (€ 23.914.103,21).
