Sold at the lower estimate price
In November 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Remembrance by Bill Viola. The result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,807.42) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bill Viola have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Eternal Return in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 377,600.00 (€ 564,168.04).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Remembrance von Bill Viola zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 56.807,42) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bill Viola auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Eternal Return im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 377.600,00 (€ 564.168,04).
