Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Composition Crayon Study For A Closer Grand Canyon by David Hockney. Here, the upper estimate of USD 350,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 370,000.00 (€ 350,312.44). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition Crayon Study For A Closer Grand Canyon von David Hockney zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 350.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 370.000,00 (€ 350.312,44) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hockney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
