This artwork by Rodolphe Bresdin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2006. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work Le bon samaritain (Van Gelder 100; Préaud 29) sold for USD 2,640.00 (€ 2,080.87) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rodolphe Bresdin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Et In Arcadia Ego; And A Busy Continental Street Scene in September 2004 with an auction result of GBP 39,435.00 (€ 57,451.81).
