lithograph in colors, circa 1898, on laid paper, from the edition of 200 (there were also 100 impressions in black, 50 in sanguine and 50 in bistre), margins trimmed, a few minor foxmarks, minor surface soiling, a repaired tear at the extreme right margin edge, old glue remains at the extreme lower margin edge, otherwise in good condition

In November 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Le Chapeau épinglé, 2e planche (Delteil; Stella 30) by Pierre-Auguste Renoir. The »bidding war« ended at USD 84,000.00 (€ 71,246.82), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Berthe Morisot et sa fille, Julie Manet in May last year with an auction result of USD 24,435,000.00 (€ 22,770,478.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im November 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le Chapeau épinglé, 2e planche (Delteil; Stella 30) von Pierre-Auguste Renoir zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 84.000,00 (€ 71.246,82) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pierre-Auguste Renoir erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Berthe Morisot et sa fille, Julie Manet im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.435.000,00 (€ 22.770.478,05).
