Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work A Bigger Book, Art Edition A, B, C, and D by David Hockney. The price achieved of USD 163,800.00 (€ 155,452.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
