Auction result misses estimated price range
In April this year a collector was able to acquire the work Kyoto (Positive/Negative) by Howardena Pindell for USD 4,410 (€ 4,185). This price was achieved in the auction Editions & Works on Paper at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000 – 7,000 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Howardena Pindell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled #24 in May this year with an auction result of USD 1,134,000 (€ 1,056,751).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Kyoto (Positive/Negative) von Howardena Pindell für USD 4.410 (€ 4.185) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000 – 7.000. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Howardena Pindell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled #24 im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.134.000 (€ 1.056.751).
