Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Eiffel Spade, from Five Spades by Richard Diebenkorn was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in October last year. The price achieved of USD 1,638.00 (€ 1,648.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Diebenkorn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Recollections of a Visit to Leningrad in November this year with an auction result of USD 46,410,000.00 (€ 42,546,754.68).
