Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lithograph (J. 108) by Fred Sandback was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,071.00 (€ 927.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fred Sandback achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Broadway Boogie Woogie (Sculptural Study, Twenty-two part Vertical Construction) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 545,000.00 (€ 495,724.94).
